History of Sivle farm

Sivle Farm has an old, rich history. According to the local history from Vossestrand, the first farmer here was Knut Sivle in 1563.
But there is much evidence to suggest that there has been settlement here long before then. Several artifacts have been found by the farmers working the land that suggest that there has been settlement here going back to the iron-age. These artifacts are now kept at the Bergen Museum.

In addition there likely lies a gravestone in front of the main house at Sivle which is thought to date back to the early immigration time of 600 B.C.

These artifacts from Sivle Farm are today kept at the Bergen Museum.
