SiThe
currant owner took over the farm in 2003. Previously the
farm was owned by four different parties, ¼ ownership
each. The farm had not been in operation since 1974, the
fields and pastures had been rented out and the owners
had done their best to keep up the many buildings on the
farmstead.
There
are many very old buildings, mostly log cabin style, at
Sivle.
The smokehouse and the old house were built together and
date to the 1500/1600’s.
In addition there is the main farmhouse.
The pensioner’s cottage is from the 1700/1800’s.
The storehouse dates to the 1600’s.
All the buildings have been panelled on the outside and
have been restored and modernized over the years.

In
addition there were once a small blacksmith’s house,
several out-buildings and a spring barn on the property,
all of which no longer exist. The old barn was torn down
in 1961, and replaced the same year with a new barn built
by the current owner’s grandfather. The farm has
mainly raised goats and sheep, and all activity and transportation
done with horses.
The
cottager farm of Naole belongs to the Sivle farm. This
was in use up until 1930. The old road/path to Jordalen
went through the farmstead at Sivle and past Naole. Today
this path is restored and provides a unique and breathtaking
hike through this awesome nature.
Sivle
also has pastureland, a summer farm in Berdalen, mountain
pastureland and hunting rights.

Beautiful
nature experiences from the hike to Naole, with the Stalheim
switchback road in the background.
